If you book an appointment to see your doctor, but later realise you will be unable to make it, please tell the practice receptionist as soon as possible, so that they can give your appointment
to another patient.
Missing an appointment wastes precious time and resources!
The practice does not have a system of personal lists, hence patients may see the doctor of their choice, given availability. Where possible, patients are encouraged to consult with one doctor in the event
of an ongoing problem.
Receptionists can see patients away from reception if there is a particular need for confidentiality.
Chaperones
There are occasions when patients need to be examined by a doctor which may involve intimate examinations. The practice is committed to putting patients at ease whenever possible and if you wish a
chaperone to be present during your examination please do not hesitate to ask the doctor. It may not be possible for a chaperone to be provided immediately and you may have to return for the examination
to be carried out at a mutually convenient time.
Trust is important in the relationship between general practitioner and patient and we would, at all times, hope that you would feel able to ask for a chaperone should you require one.
Telephone Consultations
Some consultations can be dealt with by phone eg cystitis, conjunctivitis, medication problems. Contact the surgery to request a telephone consultation. A doctor will usually phone you back
by 3.00pm.
